Alla corte di Caterina
This catalogue, edited by Fabrizio Di Pierantonio, shows reproductions of a series of instruments constructed by members of the Tuscan Violin Makers’ Association (www.liuteriatoscana.org) in occasion of the “Homage” to Andrea Amati. The initiative took place on occasion of the Exhibition on the Opera Omnia of Andrea Amati for the court of king Carl IX of France, exposed in the Civic Museum of Cremona “Ala Ponzone”- Palazzo Affiatati – 5th -6th -7th October 2007.
The Tuscan violin makers constructed for the occasion copies of his instruments or instruments inspired by the work of this very important artist. Many of the instruments are decorated and some are in Baroque style for a total of 17 pictures of instruments. Thank to the collaboration of the corporation “Ente Triennale” of Cremona (www.entetrennale.com), which has now become the “Stradivari Foundation”, it has been possible to expose these copies in the hall “Sala delle Colonne”, a hall preceding the exhibition of the original instruments of Andrea Amati.
In the evening of Saturday 6th, on occasion of the closure of the exhibition, there was a concert of the Euphòria Quartet (www.quartettoeuphoria.com) and a buffet with a Tuscan renaissance menu offered by the Tuscan Violin Makers’ Association.
